    Abstract
Indiana public school systems are currently suffering unparalleled budget cuts; these reductions are forcing schools to reduce or eliminate music and arts related programs. Research will determine if it is plausible to utilize college student musicians to mentor and lead area public middle and high school students in music education through a Not for Profit organization. The ability to continue music education in public schools will benefit the student, the school system and the community; to be able to utilize college students would not only give those participants an opportunity to continue playing music as well as earning community service credit for scholarships and representing their individual schools as part of a larger intercollegiate program.
