Abstract
The hospice task of managing dying patients and their families is
sufficiently formidable as to require it be a shared responsibility
seeking the expertise of multidisciplinary health specialists. The
multidisciplinary approach to hospice care is wholistic in scope,
encompassing the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of the
terminally ill and their families. Based upon the scope of services,
it is imperative that hospice workers include professionals representing medicine, nursing, social services, psychology and pastoral care.
