    Abstract
Last year I was asked to speak to a gathering of women for a Sunday afternoon reflection during advent. “You can talk about whatever you want, Susan,” said the representative of the women’s club who contacted me. “But I'd really like to hear you talk about Luke’s views on women.” One of the bible study groups in her parish had been studying the evangelist, so she thought my talk would have particular appeal to them as well as to a broader audience of women from throughout the deanery.
