Abstract
My initial idea for a pastoral project was to develop a program that would inform and reflect on issues of concern for low-income women. It became apparent in discussions with the director that the women do not sign up for programs specific to social justice. In discussing why, lt was determined that "why" was a pastoral concern. To be more specific: Why is it difficult to attract participants to programs about social justice? What are the obstacles that cause people to hesitate to learn about issues of social justice in our community, 4dn.our country or in our world? As the "committee studies the programs presented in the past six years, it 1s not difficult to see a theme of social justice, but when something is entitled social justice, the number of women participating is smaller. Our goal is to discover why women do not attend these programs.
